President's June 2010 Message
c.pDr. C.P. Joshi,

President, Rajasthan Cricket Association

RCA has successfully conducted the ODI and the IPL matches in spite of the many hurdles it faced. Now it is time to move ahead and improve the game at the ground level. The U-19 tournament has been started very early this year with a view to utilize the idle summer months and prepare the base for the sterner tests ahead. Introduction of the Match Referee system has improved the playing conditions, umpiring standards, ground conditions, and has given an avenue for involving the ex-Ranji players with the development and conduct of the game at the ground level. The RCA Academy team is now playing the Delhi circuit and has already reached the finals of Laxman Das memorial and semi-finals of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial tournament, beating formidable sides like Air-India, Collage group and DDCA along the way. The teams from Rajasthan would now be playing the different circuits all over India and also in tournaments abroad. The Hony. Secretary of RCA is now in England with the India ‘A’ team as Manager and would be working out arrangement with the counties for exchange programmes and would be looking at the best practices in the field of new stadia, infrastructure and technology upgradation.

PC Quest, the leading IT Magazine has rated the RCA online ticketing and access control systems as one of the best 100 IT implementations of the year. This is a feather in the cap for RCA and gives us the encouragement to innovate even further. RCA and BCCI are now working closely together and allotment of the Women’s Zonal camp to RCA Academy was a major event for this year. The RCA Academy is also set to turn a new leaf by launching an Academic Calendar under the guidance of NCA’s experts.

RPL is now shifted to winter. The development programme for the new infrastructure including the stadia is on course. The amazing victories of the Academy team in the Delhi circuit has heralded a very good year which I am sure, would bring in laurels for Rajasthan.
